Isha is a Research Lead at CIS, responsible for organisational verticals on digital competition, internet governance, telecommunications and critical technologies. Isha is a member of the Bureau of Indian Standards’ Electronics and IT Division Council (LITDC) and several research bodies and networks including the Digital Merger Watch, India Internet Governance Forum (IIGF) and the Data Governance Network. Her opinion pieces on competition policy, telecom, and the internet have been published in leading national dailies. Isha is an Electrical Engineer and also holds a postgraduate degree in law with a specialisation in Intellectual Property Law from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
Prior to joining CIS, Isha worked at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), where she was part of the Telecom and Technology Policy Team (Digital Economy, Startups and Innovation) that was commissioned by the Competition Commission of India to work on the Market Study on the Telecom Sector in India. Isha also worked as a consultant with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), India and the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) on ICANN-related research and developing a multistakeholder engagement assistance program for India. In the past, she was an Associate at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, a full service law firm, where she worked on intellectual property rights predominantly focusing on patents including standard essential patents.
Amrita is a Research and Programme Lead at the Centre for Internet and Society, India. A trained sociologist, Amrita’s research interests and work lie in the areas of artificial intelligence, trust and online harms, platform accountability, information disorders, gender and technology, and sustainability and tech. She holds an undergraduate degree in sociology from Miranda House, Delhi University and a postgraduate degree in internet studies from the Oxford Internet Institute. In the past, Amrita has worked in managing and implementing large scale people practices, diversity and inclusion in the workplace, as well as in conducting and leading long-form research on impacts of tech on businesses and society, with both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
Anubha is a Senior Researcher at CIS. Her research at CIS focuses on reducing barriers to access to knowledge. Her areas of interest are copyright law, platform governance, and artificial intelligence.

Chiara is a researcher at CIS exploring labour, development, technology, and their intersections. Her research is grounded in feminist political economy approaches looking at power, hierarchy, and inequality under contemporary capitalism. Her research centres around gender and work, digitalisation in the informal and care economy, and impacts of state-market techno-solutionist initiatives. At CIS, she leads research on digitalisation, labour, and the informal economy in India. Through this work, she is closely involved in co-building community research collaborations with grassroots workers’ collectives. Chiara holds a degree in development studies and economics, and is trained in qualitative research methods.
