DIDP #31 Diversity of employees at ICANN

  • Internet Governance

Akash Sriram

19 July 2018

We have requested ICANN to disclose information pertaining to the diversity of employees based on race and citizenship.

This data is being requested to verify ICANN’s claim of being an equal opportunities employer. ICANN’s employee handbook states that they “…provide equal opportunities and are committed to the principle of equality regardless of race, colour, ethnic or national origin, religious belief, political opinion or affiliation, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, age or disability.” The data on the diversity of employees based on race and nationality of their employees will depict how much they have stuck to their commitment to delivering equal opportunities to personnel in ICANN and potential employees.

The request filed by CIS can be accessed here
