Fintech

The term Fintech is generally used to describe innovative technology and technological processes being used in the financial services sector and CIS has in the past explored various subjects in the sector such as Draft Security Standards for the Fintech Sector, a study of privacy policies of various Indian Fintech companies, examination of the RBI’s Draft Enabling Framework for Regulatory Sandbox, etc. Our research has also attempted to study the harms of making a digital financial system the default for financial transactions within communities that do not have a deep understanding of technology and digital security. Our ultimate aim is for CIS to achieve traction and credibility as an institution with expertise in the area of Fintech policy and research which would eventually enable CIS in becoming an important resource in aiding and informing the formation of policy in the Fintech sector.
