Intellectual Property
This focus area seeks to enable the public and public-interest oriented institutions such as libraries, research and educational institutions, archives, and museums to access knowledge freely and openly, as envisaged by national and international copyright law and policy. CIS conducts legal research on barriers to access and freedoms with respect to using research – elements including publications, data, media – embedded within an international network of reputed academic and civil society organisations addressing similar problems.
